Montgomery for State House District 25
About Allison
I don’t just feel called into the work – I’ve been answering that call.
I was born in Huntsville Hospital and raised in Madison. I went to Bob Jones High School and participated in Scout Troop 350, where I eventually earned the rank of Eagle! The values I learned in Scouting have stuck with me over the years and shaped my outlook on service and community.
After graduating from Bob Jones, I attended UAH, where I earned a degree in Computer Engineering. After college, I started working as an engineer supporting Redstone Arsenal. I love Huntsville, flaws and all, and there’s no place I’d rather live. :)
I’m a software engineer by trade, and I love sinking my teeth into complex problems. I want to bring that mindset to the State House to figure out how to solve Alabama’s problems, and to make our state a great place to live for all of us who call it home. I want to be working with legislators collaboratively, sitting down together to chew on these problems and work out real solutions with the people we serve in mind.
I’m religious, like a lot of folks around here, and I love attending services at my local Episcopal churches. Prayer has consistently been a big part of my life. Even at the times when I’ve found myself out of touch with the church, my personal relationship to God has stuck with me. I've included some of my favorite prayers on this website — check them out, if that's your thing. I’ve felt called to serve my community time and time again, and that’s a big part of why I’m running for office.
For years, I’ve led grassroots civil rights advocacy work in and around the State House, up close and personal. I’ve walked those halls, I’ve analyzed bills for their unintended consequences, I’ve written and presented testimony on bills at committee hearings, I’ve done media interviews on the effects of legislation, I’ve rallied communities around this advocacy. I've also talked to the lawmakers in there, on both sides of the aisle, and done my best to figure out what makes them tick.
These experiences have made me want to champion productive legislation and turn the undefeatable incumbents towards compassion for the people they're supposed to serve.
I'm familiar with how the legislature works — and more importantly, how it doesn't. All of this experience, all of this familiarity makes me ready to start being the best lawmaker for you on Day One.
I truly believe that everything I’ve learned and everything I am makes me the right choice for this work. If you believe, too, support this project for actually good governance: volunteer for the campaign if you have the time, and come vote for me on May 19 if you’re in the district.

The finer details of policy are important, and we need to process and analyze those details as humans instead of giving into the temptation of complacency.
