I know the headlines tomorrow are gonna be provocative and catchy, but let's focus on the most important part of this victory: we showed that a truly grassroots campaign that stands on its policies and its principles has a real shot in Alabama. We the people are tired of attempts to distract us with culture war issues, whether we’re in a minority group or not. We the people know corporate interests use these issues to pit us against one another while they pick our pockets.

I'm going to work especially hard for those who hate me, because they deserve a better Alabama as much as anyone. And if you don't believe me– just watch :) I'll be posting updates so y'all can give feedback before the legislative session even begins next year. There’s so much to do, and so little time in the session.

For anyone who wants to give this state the future it deserves: you are not merely in this fight until someone of the party you like becomes governor or president. You are not merely in this fight until the next election cycle. You are in this fight because greed is our true enemy, not one single candidate or party. And you are not in this fight alone.

Thank you SO much to everyone who worked on this campaign, however much. I continue to be so proud of all y’all and what we were able to build from scratch. And I’ve even managed to be proud of myself, through y’all’s love and encouragement.

I'm gonna take a couple weeks to rest, and then let's start talking about what I can do for you as your next lawmaker. I’ve been careful with my words throughout this campaign, because I know I’ll have to deliver on them later. We can’t rely on lobbyists to hand us policies that will work for the people of this state, so we’re going to have to come together and work collectively for our common good.

There’s a lot more to say, but I worked myself sick this week, so I really do need rest haha. G’night y’all. <3

The finer details of policy are important, and we need to process and analyze those details as humans instead of giving into the temptation of expediency.
